Know about JEE Main & JEE Advanced 2013:

Two major engineering entrance examinations are used for admission to engineering institutes across India those are Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).

A common engg. entrance exam was first proposed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in February 2010 as a common system for common admission into professional institutions in the country in initial time the name of the entrance test was Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET).

In 18 June 2012, a more specific format was proposed by a joint meeting of the councils of IITs, NITs and IIITs. Per this proposal, the exam will be called Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and will be made of two parts, JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced.

The Joint Entrance Examination 2013 will be conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc. Now, AIEEE 2013 known as JEE-Main 2013 and IIT-JEE as JEE-Advanced.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi conducts the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2013 on April 07, 2013 Pen & Paper Based Entrance Exam and from April 08 to 25, 2013 Computer Based Entrance exam.

About 14 lakhs students submitted application form for JEE Main Entrance examination 2013.The top 1.5 lakhs candidates of JEE Main from all categories will be eligible to attempt JEE Advanced. The syllabus for JEE MAIN is same as last year’s AIEEE and the syllabus for JEE Advanced is similar to that of IIT JEE 2012.

Know about Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2013:

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the all India entrance examination conducted for the admissions into the Engineering courses (B-tech/BE). From 2013 Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is being conducted in two parts, JEE-Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is for the admission into NITs, IIITs and possibly CFTIs and other participating institutes while JEE Advanced is for the admission into IITs only.

Know about JEE Main 2013:

The Paper 1 which will be organized for B. E. / B. tech. aspirants will be conducted in two modes-Offline mode which will be pen and paper based entrance test and JEE Main 2013 Paper 2 which will be for the B. Arch aspirants and will be conducted in Online Mode which will be a computer based test.

For IITs, an average of the marks from Class XII Board exams and JEE-Main will be used for screening, allowing only a fixed number of candidates to be considered for admission. Ranking between the candidates will be based entirely on JEE-Advanced and this will be decided by the joint admission board of IITs. For other institutions, the rankings will give 40% weight to Class XII Board exams, 30% to JEE-Main and 30% to JEE-Advanced.

Important Dates of JEE Main 2013:

  • Date of Offline JEE Main 2013 Exam: 07/04/2013
  • Date of Online Exam: 08/04/2013 to 25/04/2013
  • Admit Card issue: 05/03/2013
  • JEE Main 2013 Result declaration:07/05/2013
  • All India Rank Declaration: 07/07/2013
  • Rank Card Availability on website: 08/07/2013

Eligible for JEE Main 2013:

  • Candidate must passed in final exam of 10+2 or its equivalent  qualifying exam. Those appearing in 10+2 final or equivalent exam in 2013 may also appear in JEE(Main) 2013.
  • Candidates who are aspirants for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, IITs and ISM Dhanbad -for one or more than one of them – must confirm to the eligibility criteria of the relevant institutions.
  • Candidates are allowed maximum of 3 consecutive attempts.
  • For JEE Main 2013, candidates who passed +2 exam in 2011 or2012 or appearing in 10+2 in 2013 are only eligible to appear.

Reservation of seats in JEE Main 2013:

Reservation of Seats will be reserve for every participating institutions for the candidates of reserved categories as given below.

  • Non – Creamy Layer OBC (NCL – OBC).
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST).
  • Scheduled Castes (SC).
  • Persons with Disability (PwD).

Paper pattern of JEE Main 2013:

For Paper 1 (B.E/B.TECH courses)

  • Objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) with equal weightage for Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
  • Duration: 3 hrs

Paper 2 (B.ARCH/B. PLANNING)

  • Mathematics – Part I – objective questions
  • Aptitude Test – Part II – objective questions
  • Drawing Test – Part III – to test drawing aptitude
  • Duration – 3 Hours

Negative marking- For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No response will mean no. deduction of marks.

Admit Card for JEE Main 2013:

All Candidates are advised to check their admit card carefully for their name, date of birth, Gender, exam center etc. In case of any fault, candidates can complain to JEE (Main) Secretariat immediately for necessary action.

The JEE Main 2013 Admit Card will be made available on the official website of JEE Main 2013 https://jeemain.nic.in from 5th March, 2013.

Know about JEE Advanced 2013:

JEE Advanced (IIT JEE 2013) Admit Cards:

JEE Advanced Exam 2013 Admit cards will be issued only online from May 16, 2013 Tuesday. The student has to download the admit cards from the corresponding Zonal JEE Advanced websites.

Process to Download JEE Advanced Admit Card:

The students required the following information to download his/her admit card from the Zonal JEE Advanced website. One is JEE Main Registration number and other is Date of Birth.
